POSITION:                 Full Time Paraprofessionals–7.5 Hours per Day

                                      Subject to Federal Funds and Student Need   

QUALIFICATIONS:  Garnet Valley is seeking caring, dedicated, and student-centered Paraprofessionals to support students with diverse educational and personal needs. 

 Candidates should demonstrate:

• Commitment to supporting students academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow district procedures and regulations.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn instructional supports, behavior management techniques, personal care procedures, and toileting assistance protocols.

REQUIREMENTS:    

Paraprofessionals may be assigned to support individual students or classrooms and will perform duties including, but not limited to:

• Assisting students with instructional activities, classroom participation, and organizational needs as directed by the teacher.
• Supporting the implementation of student accommodations and modifications as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Reinforcing behavior plans and assisting with behavioral interventions,
• Monitoring student engagement during class activities, group work, transitions, and recreational activities while prompting or redirecting students as needed.
• Assisting students with personal care and daily living activities.
• Supporting students with mobility needs.
• Assisting with therapy exercises and therapeutic activities as directed.
• Preparing and adapting instructional materials, including modifications.
• Collecting data and maintaining communication logs
• Participating in required training and completing a minimum of 20 hours of annual staff development related to the assignment.
• Bus Run and Club Support as needed during board approved hours.

START DATE:  Start of the 26-27 School Year

SALARY:    $21.63 per hour, per negotiated contact.
